Petition for the White House: Perpetual Motion Machines

Shhhhh... everyone knows that the first law of thermodynamics just doesn't understand people with autism-spectrum disorders.
If I remember correctly (after a brief google of Tesla's claims), his supposed discovery was a perpetual motion of the 2nd kind, which doesn't violate the First law of thermodynamics (meaning the law of conservation of energy is not violated)
However, it does violate the more subtle, yet equally strict and valid Second law of thermodynamics - meaning that you cannot extract energy from a system in thermal equilibrium.
No one should be banned strictly for advocating physically impossible things, but be informed of why these things are impossible.
In this case, reading about Tesla's proposal and the laws of Thermodynamics is a good start.
Also, don't confuse improbable with impossible. The "laws" of physics were written by men looking at shadows, and thinking they understood what is actually going on. Too many "scientists" these days take it on faith that their science is correct, perfect, and there is no way it will ever be proven wrong, invalid, or somehow mistaken.
It is entirely possible that the laws of thermodynamics are actually mostly bogus under some set of conditions, and that a nearly unlimited amount of useful energy can be extracted for use by humans by some simple and cheap means. While it is most likely so improbable as to be nearly impossible, we should not simple assume it is completely impossible and then go bury our heads in the sand while putting zero effort toward exploring such ideas and seeking solutions.

I did not suggest he be banned for this post alone, but his posting history comes down to pretty much spam, or attention getting posts. and has made no indication to change that behavior.

In a general case of a non-specific scientific theory, I'd roughly agree with you.
In the case of the laws of thermodynamics, you can put all the effort you like, it's still going to be impossible. There's cases that the ever-increasing entropy can be shown to be reversed (by pure chance interactions), but these cases are so improbable, that if you waited longer than the universe's lifetime, you'd never see such a case. It gets worse the larger the entropy reversal you expect to see.
I don't define that as 'improbable' because it's not. It's pretty much the definition of impossible.
I seriously cannot tell you how proud I am right now of my home country [United States] that this incredibly stupid petition only has a single signature, which I suspect belongs to the author. I'm not the nationalist type, but this is worth being proud of.
