Freeing Textures?

After a texture has been binded to an ID, can the ID, and the memory used for the texture be freed?

Its really helpful when you oh say, look for things first.

glDeleteTextures(...);

Hmm, that sure was hard to find =P
Seriously though, I don''t mean to be mean, but look first before you ask something. All I did was search MSDN for "Freeing Textures" and I got that. Show some intiative next time.
