toon shading in OpenGL

Hi, how could I do to perform cartoon like renders with OpenGL? I''ve tried with a tutorial from nehe, but it''s done in MFC, I need something in Win32. thanx.

The biggest thing is to use a 1D texture. I don''t have exact code to show ya though, sorry.
