Update
Remixed the last version a little bit to add a little solo part. Check it out.

In regards to a comment on my last entry by takingsometime, I will be adding a clicking sound to the game at the 15 second mark that'll tick every 2 seconds until 5 seconds has been reached, and then it'll…

Dang it!
So, Photoshop decided to take a crap on me and leave me staring at a frozen application everytime I attempt to load it. I have no idea why, but it just does. So, while I work to find my Adobe Photoshop CD, doing anything on breakout is definitely at a stand still. Though, at least I have finals t…

Stocks
Hmm. Side note...

I've been thinking about pulling my mutual funds to start investing in stocks. Is anybody around here a trader or know of a trader? I'm trying to collect an idea on what company I should go with to trade. TD Ameritrade, E*Trade, etc. It would be nice to be able to trade, but ha…

I didn't say it was going to be easy...
So, I've been implementing the power ups between studying for the weekly exams. I just finished up about 9 out of 15 today, and Haze has to be my favorite so far. This power 'down', so to speek, is going to make the challenge mode pretty damn interesting. It'll definitely make those who pay atte…

We Are Experiencing Technical Difficulties
Well, I have the power up system partially developed and I thought I would update the journal with a fun post. Sometimes I think it is great for developers to share the, unique and upbringing aspects of elements that they build. Haha.

Just a note, which should be o…

Update
Today while I was between classes I designed a list of power gems that I wanted to put into the game. I came up with 10 for normal and challenge mode, and 4 special ones just for challenge mode. The special cases in challenge mode will be add and subtract points and time. Something to note is, a …

Update
For the past couple of hours I decided I would implement a font system into Breakout Returns. I wanted something a little more unique and vibrant than what SDL libraries provide, so I gave it a shot. I'm not partial to the outcome and luckly the system works well enough. I keep track of any text …

Update
Well today was a pretty fun day. The physics system in Breakout Returns works fairly okay... Not at the peek that I want it though. Atleast it is okay enough to play some solid games once you get the movement down. :) I still have a few bugs with some aspects, but I'll be waiting until I finish up…

Update
So, between studying for my exams and homework, I managed to find some time to work on the major hurdle of getting the physics and collision detection put into the game. It's extremely bug prone right now, but I'm getting the results I expected. Hopefully tomorrow i'll be able to clean it up.

Well, my Saturday became screwed by my Statistics course. Not that I don't like statistics, but doing an analysis and writing the paper took forever. At least that beast is behind me.

I didn't get a chance to do any coding today. Though something I did add since my last journal entry was a much sm…

Breakout Returns
Over the past few weeks I've had some drive to go balls to the wall with programming and design. Finding time between my hectic school schedule led me to finish a simple slider game with a new found buddy of mine that lives back in my hometown. Upon completion of that, I vowed to keep on trucking…

Well, Programmer16 asked really darn nicely for me to post some pictures, but I am just going to hold out for a little longer. I did not get a chance to get everything that I wanted to complete today because of the horrendous amount of exams that I have to study for. Though, I have some more art c…

Holy cow, NURBS modeling is quite a freaking treat. I'm not going to even say how long it took me to finalize this model. But, on the brighter side of things, I learned a lot - which is what I was going for. Though, it was even more pressured upon by the actually tutorial not saying much of …

- Sculpting (Dents)

So... It's 7 A.M and I'm still up. Not a problem though, because I had an interesting experience with mayas dynamics functionality. That, a…

Calix is a pretty good name and I've become quite fond of it. Maybe I should label myself as Calix Games. I don't know, we'll see.
