Or you could just set your timer thread affinity to always run on the same CPU.

It's still in progress, in the sense that I still own the domain and still plan on doing it eventually. I've been pretty busy recently, though, so I haven't gotten any work done on much of anything. If you want to volunteer, ... =-)

Don't forget to tell the cool-n-quiet driver to keep the cpu speed steady (iirc that also affects the performance counter).
