Just uploaded vortX GE to SourceForge, Its only alpha, only because I'm finishing the base lib "lsCdL". The linux code is usable if anyone is interested in having a play. PM me if you need any demo code, thats not online yet.

What's the reason you discounted SDL as a valid base layer?

Sorry for slow responce.. Moved !!
I dropped SDL 1.3 due to lack of progress at the time. I was advancing faster then they could keep up. So really had no choice. I also only needed a small part of SDL which wouldn't be that hard to write.
