At least your visual styles are vastly different :) It could have been worse...
I really hope you continue working though, your game seems to have a unique touch to it.

Yes... The gameplay, besides the same basic premise, also seems a bit different. I don't know how you get shot accuracy with that kind of perspective for one.

Anyway, quitting is never an option, because I call it "switching to a different project temporarily". ;)

More seriously, this hasn't hampered our enthusiasm and we're still finishing this game.

Have faith in your game! Do what you intended on doing regardless, and release it! Don't judge the success of your game due to this release.
