Well, the engine is making progress. Sound has been successfully implemented and it's very easy to use on the end-programmer side. Loading from different image files and from different surfaces is now in there. I did up a little demo to test its capabilities:

Try it out. I haven't really experimented to see how many balls you can get on the screen yet, but it would be fun to try. If you guys find any bugs, please tell me. Any recommendations on any game projects I should attempt with this? I was thinking a breakout clone as it would be pretty easy with this new engine.

It says "This application has failed to start because SDL_image.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."

Hmmm, including the correct libraries would help. Try it now [smile]. Thanks for noticing.

LIES!!!11

In fact, Rob and I did experiment, and we had 1024 balls moving around at once. Though had Rob added a fps counter, I might have been posting that result.

Very nice! I got around 1400 moving. Are the globes slowing down as the framerate drops? Kind of hard to tell with that many going all at once. [totally]

I saw a noticeable framerate drop at around 400 balls, although i was able to go up to like 1400 and still have it kinda smooth...sorta?
