Wolfgang's a truly great guy, and I was happy to help do a bit of the gruntwork for getting this to finally happen. The ShaderX book is also going to be made free for download (assuming Wolfgang can dig up the PDF after his vacation), and I also realized in writing about this (at http://www.realtimerendering.com/blog/shaderx2-books-available-for-free-download/), that the source code from the ShaderX^2 books should be made available. Soon, soon.

Yes I have to thank Eric Haines to make all this happen. I started about two years ago with the process and give up in-between because it took a long time to get permissions from the original authors.
Eric offered to take this job over and he did it and I am really in his debt now.

So we really have to thank Eric Haines for doing this!!!

If you want to thank Eric, just buy his new book "Real-Time Rendering". You can get it from here

Best book ever.

Thanks, Wolf and Eric!
I already had "Shader Programming Tips and Tricks with DirectX 9.0" as a book, but I'm very glad to have access to an electronic version now, too. And there's also the second book I haven't read yet.

Q: I already own RTR 2. Can just I purchase the patch to version 3?
