The Week of awesome II - The competition Thread!

Hey all,

New art updates with storyboard/game etc.

Checking in on this thread, are people saying the deadline is extended or is it just specified to a particular time zone? I'm on the Eastern part of the US. Is it Midnight New York time or California time or something else?

Team: Still Flying - Chris, Laurie, Kaylee Eck.

Toys: Guardians of Innocence

A turn based strategy game where the toys wake up at night to protect their keeper from the monsters in the closet. Snatch up the Hope before the monsters gobble it up and become even harder to defeat. When you do pick some up, you get a small boost to your stats.

I'm working up the instructions in my last journal for convenience. The instructions.txt file is included in the zip file if you can't wait. If chrome "blocks" the file, it actually just renames it. You can rename it back to something.zip and extract it.

The deadline is not extended, as far as I know, people were just jokingly "suggesting"/"hinting" that an extension would be nice.

There's just shy of 9 hours left.

I will consider making a video after the competition has ended, but for now I haven't seen my bed in like 40 hours so yeah, I think i'll go check her out.

I didn't get anything done this morning but have spent the afternoon making a few levels. I am up to 8 levels so far. Chances are people will blast through those quite quickly, but nevermind. Maybe there's still time to make a few more. Here's a screeny...

This is also a good point to stop and build my first official submission entry (download it from link below) - which just means this is my fallback in case I run out of time later. I am sure I will get a further build out with a few more improvements/bugfixes in the remaining hours.

I've done a journal entry here and have attached the final build to the post.

If it fails to start or has bugs/errors please let me know.

I will definetly expand apon this game after a short break in which I will go over my mesh converter and add some mission functionality to some systems( like the abality to have randomly named nodes in the config files ).

Looking forward to feedback and the other entries biggrin.png

My home internet is so slow, takes about 20 minutes to upload and I had a few false starts, which are all ironed out now (this is part of the benefit of getting an early build out!) :-)

I'll throw the final competition build of my game in the ring too.
