I just made a particle system demo, and was wondering what I can do to improve it. I also would be interested to know what FPS people get and with what video card/CPU. Go to asylumentertainment.cjb.net to download it. Thanks in advance. Edited by - ziplux on 3/21/00 2:37:00 PM

I got around 33FPS on a Pentium Pro.

"When people tell you they want to hear the truth, you know that their lying."
I got about 53fps on a geForce 256 DDR / Celeron 500 system

There is something very odd with the code though. As I moved the mouse the framerate raised. I was able to get the framerate up to 130fps just by continueosly moving the mouse in a circle. (I''m sure it would have gone higher but I grew tired of it after a few seconds)

I took a quick peek at the code, but quickly noted that it would take me forever to find the problem. You really should try to break up the code into several modules.
I am aware of the FPS problem, but I''m not really sure what the probelm is. I know the code is messy, I''m in the process of cleaning it up.

I only get 10fps on my wimpy 150MHz Pentium MMX Portable Computer (RAM: 40MB, Video: NeoMagic 128 with 1.5MB).
Amazon babes are cool.
i got up to 70+ FPS on my 450 PII, 128MB Ram, etc.

BTW, I see some traces of Andre LaMothe in your code
