Hello, I'm working on a 2d kinda fun game (dunno really what to call it...) where you're a pimp (whose a pengiun) and you have to buy stuff, pimp hoes, etc. Basically everything pimps do you can do. Right now I have the console where all the info is displayed 90% done (just have to add sprintf() the stats and blt them) the player is moved around with the mouse, just click and he moves there (thats done) file i/o is about 75% done, just have to work on a better way to get the file names, the way I'm doing it now is just testing if a key has been pressed with DInput8 (yes, thats 27 if statements, one for space) it messes up sometimes but it's ok right now since it's pre-alpha. I also have an intro, opening menu screen, and closing . Now what I need. I need someone to do some simple 2d graphics like some furniture, couple NPCs, and 3 other positions for the player. The way I have it now, I got 1 penguin bitmap facing down, and I just used paint to rotate it 90 degrees each way. I don't care what kind of program you use, as long as it looks better than my programer art. Also, I need someone to just compile the game for me. I'm using VC++ 6 Intro since I'm 15 and unemployed, and I just need someone with VC++ 6 and the DX 8.1 SDK to compile and link the .exe for me so I can give it to some people. As of right now the only .libs it uses is ddraw.lib and dinput8.lib. The project is just for fun and so I can say I completed a game, and I'd like it to look decent instead of everythign being a different colored rectangle, I thought I'd ask if someone could help me with some art. Thanks! (If someone didn't take the hint that this is a non-profit game, this is a non-profit game) Hibiki Wheres the any key?

I don´t think I can help you out, I don´t really have the time atm.

Funny thing that those posts with concrete stuff going on (have engine, want art) usually draw the least responses... maybe you should try posting some flamebait? (Seeking to hire a team of 12 artists, 15 programmers and 4 writers to make a christian-themed game where you go around shooting people like D3, only better)

Also in need of an expert team of programmers/designers/artists for a MMORPG. I have no story line, design doc, money, or server space, but it will be the best MMORPG ever! Even better than EverQuest and Earth and Beyond! I can''t pay anyone until the game goes platnum and everyone loves it. It will be in full 3d with lush bump shaded graphics, DirectGL powered of course, and with sound on par with the Bosnian symphany orchestra. The monthly fee will be about 29.99 (standard subscription) with the gold level subscription a measly 499.99 per month. The game will retail at about 645.99 on a micro disk that can only be played on computer micro disk players that will cmoe out around the year 1257. I also have no experience in programming, art, designing, or anything else to do with games. I''m an 8-year old boy who just peed in his pants. I know alot of people will want to join the project, so I''m limiting the staff to 55 programmers, 130 artists, and 4,000 Hollywood quality writers. Oh, just had a thought. The idea of the game is you are a holy-man trying to preach the word of God to peole by going around highly populated suburbian areas of large cities filling people with lead from 83 different weapons ranging from an M-16 to your mothers expensicve china! Well, with that said I''ll post this and wait for the people wanting to join in just roll in! Thanks!

Lmao. Like that? And yea, I noticed that too. The posts from people who have a game going on get less posts from people that stupid ones like that one get.

How simple? Gimme an example of how simple... and I might be able to help.

Lets see.. Super Nentendo graphics simple. Freeware game simple. 1995 simple. In other words, better than programmer art thrown together in 2 minutes with paint just to have something on screen.

Its a waste of time looking for artists here. Why don''t you try a site called Elf Wood.

www.elfwood.com

Lots of 2D artists there.

Don''t ask me how to reach them though. You have to join a mailing list. They should put a forum up.

I''ve done a pretty good penguin(4 directional poses) but I haven''t pimped him up.
What pixel size did you want it in?
Where do I send it
I also have a bug, 2 tables, and a chair. I downloaded some free 3D models and rendered them. You can''t sell them etc. blah blah blah but OK for your needs

I''ll need the proper credits and some screen shots

So the actual image of the penguin or wahtever has to be that big? or just within the 128x128. Gimme a size for the actual penguin... unless zoomboy is doing it for you now.

3D? Are these in 3D or 2D?

A lot of the art you see in 2D strategy games are 3D models that have been rendered into 2D sprites. Rather than Pixel Pushing, you can get a lot of good detail especially with natural-looking highlighting. I used TrueSpace4.3 3D modeller that I bought for $99(They always have sales on) It''s OK for animation but is suited quite well for rendering to 2D sprites

Snake1 - good question, thank you for asking

Sending now

Maybe I can help you out. I like the idea of a pimpin'' penguin + 2D 1995 style art. I am a Games Design student at University of Teesside, where I kick ass on a regular basis. Mail me the graphics you got already and detailed specs and ideas for what you need.

Thanks

If you can''t afford the standard edition of MSVC++, look at DevC++ (www.bloodshed.com, I think)

I could compile it for you, get me on AIM. SN = DeyjaL

Sorry bout that. Got caught up in a bunch of crap for school for a few days... Anyway, thanks for the penguin and table, they look great.

All the art + source is on my very crappy under construction web site (www.geocities.com/dragongames123/home.html), exept the penguin and table ZoomBoy sent (because of the liscense).

About Dev, I''ve heard it isn''t very good for large multiple file projects, but I just dled it so I''ll try it.
