I''ve got the basic plan. A game where you go in figure out SOME puzzles (note: SOME it is not a total puzzle game) and get to the evil big baddie after completeing 5 or so stages. But Since it is to be 3-D should it be in 1st or 3rd person? "blow up a lawnmower plant, save a lawn gnome!"

I''ve always loved 3rd person in general (probably cause I suck at firstperson shooters =). And games that involve both action and puzzles would DEFINITELY be better in 3rd person. Like the Resident Evil series, or Silent Hill, or Grim Fandango (I know, that game is all puzzles, but you get my idea).

I vote for 3rd person. It''s just easier to move around when you can actually see what''s bellow your feet and to your sides.

Good question. Both perspectives are great in the right situations. My personal opinion is that for a "puzzle-type" game, third person is best. First person seems to be better for higher action games. Good luck =)
How about to let the user choose? 3rd/first is just a matter of setting the camera at the right position, or?

3rd is in my opinion better for puzzles but for action 1st is better
