Hi. I want to make games for fun and I am wondering do you think it is a good idea to make games from scatch or use programs like Game Maker and eventually use C++ etc. I have V Basic and V C++ and I am a bit confused. http://www.luckysage.com

The game makers I''ve seen aren''t worth the time it takes to download them. Using existing engines is another story (something like TrueVision3D). Depending on the type of games you want to make, what you know, and the amount of time you want to invest in learning a language will determine whether you want to use VB or C++. VB is easy to learn and allows for rapid development, but it''s not suited to high end games (say UT2003). C++ is a monster to learn (well) and usually slower to develop, but you can do anything your talent and vision allows.
