Please, HELP ME with INTELLIPOINT!!

I use the mouse with directx (GetDeviceState) to calculate path of ball. It works fine, but if i install intellipoint, the path is really abrupt.(on a PII 300)(if after i use PS2RATE the path still abrupt) Could you help me?? Thank you very much.
