Unfortunately I’m not familiar with direct3d and so I can’t help you with the implementation.
On my system (celeron 466+Geforce 256 sdr )with the above algorithm I ‘m loosing 9-12% of performance but that’s because I have I slow ass VIA mobo (agp performance limited and no fill rate, so the “reflection” pass is almost free) .On normal systems the performance drop may be higher (but below 50% because both the geometry and the textures are on the video memory on the “reflection” pass. I expect something around 20-25% performance loss )
