Howto use a rendertarget to draw 3d and 2d

Hi i can render 3d stuff to my window but now i want to devide it as follows so that i can draw 3d to (1) und 2d to (2),(3),(4) the windows for 2d are used for menus anyone can help me ? --------------------------- |..................|.......| |......1...........|...2...| |..................|.......| |..................|.......| |------------------|-------| |......3...........|...4...| |..................|.......| ----------------------------

To render GUI elements in a 3D game, one typically draws the whole 3D scene first (optionally using viewports, if you know that it will be limited to a certain part of the screen). One then changes the camara to be orthogonal, and typically uses quads to draw the GUI elements onto the screen in 2D. Here is a quick [google] I did to find some tutorials for 2D in 3D stuff.
