Hi all, Quick question...I''ve been looking into a few sound card specs and I was wondering if anybody could give me the definition of a "sample set". For example, the Diamond Monster MX400 can support 2Mb or 4Mb of sample sets. Also, I''ve notice that very few companies are creating sound cards with onboard RAM. The only reason I can up with is that memory is fairly expensive. However, by having memory onboard, it would free up your CPU to do other things instead of spending time streaming data to the cards (even if it uses DMA). Thanks for your help.
