Thanks in advance. I have made a sort of space shooter game. I know it has some sort of bug in the control configs but the game works fine 1 or 2 player. It is hosted on nehe.gamedev.net in the downloads section under 'S'. It is called Space Battle 3d. Would anyone be willing to test it and give me feedback. It has actually been a while, but I never posted about it here. Also, I have learned a few techniques for performance boosts since then and it isn't very optimized. On my 1.6Ghz Pentium, RADEON9200 it runs fine, but I don't know about anyone else. Thanks. Heres a link.

HINT: You might want to edit your post to contain a direct link to the download or else you might not get many replies.

Maybe include a pic as well:

You have a point. Thanks for the advice. Any feedback??

In your readme.txt you say:
"The textures and sound/music are not mine. They were gotten from various resources, so this game has to be distributed free for it to be legal."

First of all, you should know that distributing without charge is not good enough. That is a big myth about copyright law.

But anyway, about the game, the gameplay is solid enough. One problem: Not enough information is given to the user. Diving right in after reading the readme, I couldn't really tell if what I was doing was good or bad or if it even mattered what I did. Not enough feedback. Try particle effects or more sound effects to give the player clues as to what is going on.

I guess I learned something new today. By the way, one bar is the "points" bar. It tells you when you are working on winning. Also, thanks for the feedback. I'll rfemember not to use other's music like that. I truly thought it was legal in this sense. Oh well.

That's a pretty cool game. It reminds me a lot of Star Fox. Good work so far! Here's some suggestions though:

1) Position the camera slightly above the ship. This would give a much better field of view, as well as allow you to see what's in front of you. With the current camera position, I could hardly ever even see my bullets!

2) As people have already mentioned, I'm not too sure what I whould be doing. Maybe add a Tutorial menu explaing how the game works.

3) Let the player use the mouse to control the ship. That would be it quite a bit easier and more comfortable, though the current controls are admittedly fairly solid.

Other than these things (which are more of tips and critiques than things wrong), that's really good. Is this your first game?
Pretty much it is my first game. Years ago, I tried using QBasic to make an ugly pong clone, and I used Visual Basic to make a qbert kind of thing, but this really is my first COMPLETE game, not really complete but at this level. I kind of liked Star Fox always did. I wanted to extend the 3d mode though to go up and down as much as you can go around, where Star Fox 64 limited that to just the screen up and down, though it went 3d later. I'll remember the point about the camera. Also, a while back my computer had to be reformated, so I lost the code and that game, but I am going to eventually rebuild. I intended to finish the polish, tuts etc.. in the game and didn't get a chance to.
