I having some trouble with directional lights...... I''m trying to make a real world-ish laser emanating from a sight.(real world meaning no bright, trekkie destructo lasers). I can make the laser itself using a directional light with added volumetric noise. But when i put my sight''s base into the model, the light paints EVERY surface bright red. regardless of direction and placement. I''m just wondering if there is some reason this is doing this and/or how to make one that works Oh, and i used the laser tutorial on 3dCafe to make the laser itself, if you guys need to see parameters. Thnx. This RtS-Babble© has been brought to you by: -Run_The_Shadows -Run_The_Shadows@excite.com

Sounds like you need to make your hotspot smaller. You may also exclude everything you don''t want to be lit up by this light. Or just include the objects you do want lit up.
