At Running Bird Studios we have always strove to learn from our mistakes, from our community and to learn from the gaming community as a whole. This is the spirit at Running Bird Studios, learning and growing and we believe it’s the spirit of most independent developers. With that in mind we want to announce “The Shattered Project” a new endeavor for and by independent developers. A Learning Environment: We feel that the best way to learn something or find out its not for you is to do it. We want to embrace that philosophy by opening the door to anyone wanting to learn the aspects of game development. What does this mean? It means we don’t care what you don’t know we’ll be glad to have you and glad to help you. The Shattered Project is about learning and teaching and we’re sure we’ll do a ton of both throughout the process of development and working with prospective developers. So, without further ado, we point you to our Forums and Contact information, please feel free ask any questions or offer any help you see fit. Open Source Tools: We love open source software and the opportunities it presents to everyday people. People like the developers at Running Bird Studios who have an extremely limited budget for buying necessary development tools. We plan on using a majority of open source applications throughout the development cycles of The Shattered Project. Applications like Blender, QUARK level editor, GIMP and others not mentioned here. Without these tools we would not be this far. If you are interested in learning about game development and/or would like to be involved with The Shattered Project please Contact Us .
