Hi guys. So i've been studying and I was wondering if anyone would like to help me out and lets say... "Mentor" me? :). I'm learning C++ along with Glut. ( Even though I'm disliking glut and OpenGL alot already ). I'm pretty much looking for someone (Experienced or not) to become my friends :). and to add me to msn or aim, This way if there is somthing I don't understand I can talk it through with a fellow programmer, and viceversa. Add me or give me a shout. Thanks guys ;). MSN - Bladeshifter@hotmail.com Aim - Edddddy5057

No Gmail? Then you could use the oh-so-great Gmail chat!
Don't complicate yourself. Start with something simple.

Our whole life is a opengl application.
We have very active forums here (and an IRC channel). Why not post your code/problems here? Exposing your code to more opinions will usually make it better code, and you might get a more in depth discussion of some design/implementation issues here.
Can you tell me the server/channel that we use for IRC?

Typically I hang out in #python or #cplusplus on the freenode server.
Gamedev IRC channel is #gamedev on AfterNET. Those lacking in an IRC client can click the "Community" button on the menu at the top, and select "Online Chat."

#gamedev on irc.afternet.org

Those without a proper IRC client can also follow the Online Chat link under the Community drop down menu at the top of this site. Those who have a proper IRC client may still be interested in reading the rules, which are found there as well.
o.O Wildpockets uses a scripting language called "Lau" That would totaly defeat the purpose wouldnt it? Id learn somthing i wouldnt need for anything else but that site xD. I already wasted about 4 yrs of my life with "Byond" ugh. DM was so easy to learn. took me awhile to realize it was useless information, and seems like its so hard to learn the real stuff =X. lol. Maybe im just to old now to learn anything new :(. lol

Lua is actually a very powerful scripting language that is used in a number of games/applications: Lua Uses

The reason to use a scripting language is so that you do not have to recompile the main engine. It also allows players/users the ability to add to the game/app without having the entire source code.

There is no such thing as useless knowledge.
