Question about sprite and a green rect inside
Hello,
i found some free sprites and usually i can use colokeying to
discard the backgroundcolor from the sprite. But there are some
spriteimages that also have a green square.

The brown background color can be discarded with normal colorkeying. At the position of the green square there usually is a wheel (this building is a watermill). This wheel is a animated sprite. But the background color from the
wheel is brown as well, so when drawing the building and the wheel those parts
are still green that are not coverd by the wheel. so what is this green square
for ? for positioning or what ?
regards,
c-mos
Try filling the green square in with the brown color or even better - fill the brown areas in as green so you can use the green as your color key as it looks like that brown color may actually be useful with that tile set.
I would agree that the green space is there for positioning the water wheel animation however not being the author of the sprite set that is all speculation.

If I were to guess the reason they used such an obnoxious color is to make it obvious when playing the game if you're off by one as it will show up so well.
