what C++ IDE & OS do you use

I did click the Dev-C++ but only because the option wxDev-C++ was not on your list.

I use Geany on Arch Linux. I could not vote because Geany is not in the list.

Xcode is also missing from your IDE list.

DOS is missing from your OS list. (I did some of that too, okay, not any more)

QT Creator is missing from your list (I'm using it and Visual Studio)

Here's hoping we don't get too many genuine votes for Dev-C++ now that wxDev-C++ has been added to the list.

I picked Visual Studio, obviously on Windows, but I avoid using C++ in favour of other options where possible.

I use Visual C++ for Windows applications on Windows and NetBeans for everything else. I have a duel boot Windows XP / Ubuntu development desktop.

I do not use an IDE. I use the command line and a text editor.

As an aside, this is an example of the original meaning of "begs the question," before that phrase mutated to mean "raises the question."

Well, if using vim the answer is obvious. If using emacs, I think the elevator goes the other direction.

I use one of VC++ and QtCreator on Windows depending on what I'm doing. I usually use vim when I'm developing on the Linux machines on campus, however.

I use VC++ on Windows; however, I also use it for Linux. I open my files with WinSCP and edit them then keep a putty terminal open for running make. For smaller files I just use VIM.

Colour met confused about which IDE you mean by "KDE". KDevelop, perhaps?

I use winXP plus the ol' goodie MSVC6.0. the first and (could be) the last compiler Id ever love...
