This is a screenshot from my hobby/indie game Glowbz. It is a top down action game where the goal is to collect the small glowing orange balls call Glowz (which come from the larger orange Glowbz after the player shoots them) and deposit them in the center ring, while avoiding and destroying the surroudning enemies. The player can only collect 15 Glowz at once, which are stored in a trail behind the player. The goal is to collect enough of the Glowz before the timer runs out or face trying to complete the level with the enemy mothership, which cannot be destroyed, shooting at you.

The game area is simply static and what you see is what you get. There are a couple of different enemy types presented here, from the drone sentry that passively collects Glowz to the green harvester ship which actively shoots Glowbz then collects the resulting Glowz, a process which can be seen on the right of the image. The blue ship is a sneaky craft that steals Glowz from your center wormhole storage while you're out busy collecting, so you need to keep an eye out for it!. There are a few other types of enemies and more yet to come.

There is no amazing tech in this game, it's just a fun idea my partner came up with one night that I've actively been working on for the last year. It's taken a lot longer than it should have though, as during early development I became too used to the project and tried to fix it, and over did it to the extreme, changing the game completely 3 times. Finally I settled on this version, which is a much improved version of the original concept, but in essence the same. If I had of designed the game properly in the first place it probably would have only taken 4 months (in hobbiest land time) to make.

At present the game has not been released. I'm currently investigating distribution options before finalising the game, though in its current state it is releasable, I'd still like to add a few more features to it.
