Voxel Sandbox Creature Name Ideas?

Hello guys, it's me again.

I'm having trouble naming a race of creatures for a first person perspective voxel sandbox.

They would look a bit cute like this:

And this,

So I need a name for these creatures, and to give you a little more information.

They would be the players race and basically be humans, acting the same and the same intelligence.

They would be able to mine blocks, build towns and kingdoms and talk with other "need name here" creatures.

Now, they would be technically humans, same skin colour, intelligance bla bla, but would be classed as creatures, like every "thing" in the game.

So I need ideas, well-thought-of and unique names for them, below is some I have thought of and should give you an example of what I'm aiming for!

Spore

Blockle

Human

Probe

Oogle

There are some examples, but can you do better?

Comment below with your idea/s.

Thank you for reading all of this/some of this/hardly any of this.

This is really a writing question, so I moved it to the writing forum, but left a link in the design forum.

What's your game called? Often the game name and the name of the creature in it are related somehow. Or do any of the locations in your game have names?

But as a random suggestion, maybe Voxims.

I want to help design a "sandpark" MMO. Optional interactive story with quests and deeply characterized NPCs, plus sandbox elements like player-craftable housing and lots of other crafting. If you are starting a design of this type, please PM me. I also love pet-breeding games.

Hey sunandshadow, thanks for moving the post and for the quick reply, I never know which topic to put my posts in!

Still trying to find a name, might make another post about that and a few other things, cause I hate to spam these forums.

The game is really just in early, early planning, and like I said, I may make another post with a list of names I need.

Though your suggestion is great, "Voxims", catchy, short and relates to the voxel aspect of the game.

Thanks again for your help,

EC

Cubans?

Oh, wait... :0

I like Blockles from your list, and also like Voxims.

I was thinking Blicks or Blixx. There is also the unofficial name for Carassone markers, "Meeples."

Going off what the OP started...

Goolops

Vexmare

Screenard

Shadno

Folix

Lowoo

Bogum

uh... How many you need?

Also, I do like Voxims as a title.

If they are primarily miners/diggers, here's a few options.

Diggles

Diggums or Dig'ems

Diglets

DigDugs

Duggles

Or some other random ideas.

Veeps (Voxel peeps)

Voxems

Geomes

Oomans or Umans

Hey guys, thanks for all your replies, I read and took into consideration every single one of them!

I'm really liking "Umans", "Diggles", "Meeples", "Cubans" and "Goolops", they seem the most true to me.

I literaly haven't got far into game developing, it's still in planning (Really early planning), but this thread is purely for other dev's to gain ideas and for me to gain ideas myself.

Feel free to use any and post any more, I'll give you some of my ideas now:

Lifels

Voxelen

Blockies

Chromos

Entities

Clones

Structers

More variations on mythical creatures like Gooclops/cyclops

Bamshee

Gorpon

Kreenix

Bunyorp

Glumlin

Brolem

Valkorn

Pegazar

If you want to hear more, just say so smile.png

Well, why not Bloxims? it's basically a synthesis of Block and Voxel. . . plus, it rolls off the tongue like Blossoms, which to me (the above JPEG reminds) seems natural and warm, due to the atmosphere and design.
