One last advice - profile obscure problems on multiple machines, or use safe mode to test application deployment unlocal requirements, or to identify spoils, as veteran development machines are generaly spoiled as it can get.

I don't have another machine I can use at the moment, but yes, that would have been a good early indicator of the potential issue

The Safe Mode is , even more satisfiable to test your application deployment or out-in-the-wild behaviours and requirements, I think you omited that information, I sometimes pack words together too much :)
