Open Source OpenGL/D3D terrain demos?

Does anybody know of any open source outdoor landscape/terrain demos I can get? OpenGL is preferable just due to ease of understanding but D3D would be fine too. There is a severe lack of resources in this area! I just checked out that landscape demo done with Power Render at www.egerter.com. Too bad source code resources like that aren''t available for everyone to learn. -Wes

I think the Gamedev article on procedural texture mapping contains a link to something like this, you may want to check that out as one resource - Im sure there are a few more in the Programming section of this site - just follow the links

Take it easy,

Hi

http://www.dcs.warwick.ac.uk/~csuhm/downloads.html
has a pretty good progamm about landscape rendering including a LOD-algorithm.
It helped me quite a lot getting familiar with landscape stuff

Hope it helps

Ralph
