I wanted to chat with the other participants about last week's events, but the two main threads were already locked. First of all, Congratulations to all the participants who managed to make a submission. Shipping a working game in seven days is no small feat and you should all be proud of yourselves. I saw some really cool entries take shape over the last week. Great job everyone.

I would like to use this thread as a spot for us to wind down the competition and talk about our games.

Friends List bug

25 February 2014 - 08:05 AM

I'm not sure where the appropriate place to post this is (if anywhere). I logged on today and had a friend request from Mikéhl Johnson:

Going to his friends list, I see that he's added either 280 or 28,000 friends... The friends were only displaying one item per page, but the index looked like it was expecting 100 per page.

I can't tell why he added me as a friend. It looks like this guy is just adding random people. I see some 100 rep, faceless contacts among his list.

DirectSound Sample - CaptureSound - Saving data as a WMA file(or other format)

27 January 2006 - 04:30 PM

Hey guys, I've been messing around with the DirectSound Sample - CaptureSound, and it has some classes to save to a WAV file, but they're too goram big. I'd like to be saving to wma or some other compressed format. I've done a little searching on these boards, but can't seem to find a good starting point. For reasons I won't bore you with my choices are these: wma - 1st choice aac - 2nd ogg - 3rd mp3 - 4th Specifically, I'm looking for some samples or documentation to save data I capture from a direct sound capture buffer to one of these formats. Thanks, - Eck
