That was my guess as well. It would certainly be horrible if they weren't!

It's horrible regardless of the state of the movie.

I always liked him. My impression was he was a bit of a jerk but I thought he was a good actor.

Early talk is it may have been suicide which is disturbing giving that he actually had stuff going for him. Its also weird given that a few months ago a coworker killed himself. The whole topic just leaves you feeling kinda shaky.

Its going to be kinda strange watching the Batman movie now.

I was watching the news on CNN Headline and one of the people they talked to said Ledger was on a crazy travel schedule and was taking sleeping medication and that he might have accidentally OD'd on his sleeping meds trying to get some rest. There was no mention of a suicide note and they seemed to paint the picture of him being troubled yet (as Goober King said) had plenty of good things going for himself.

Either way it's sad to see a talented actor like him go at such an early age, and to leave behind a 2yr old daughter - that's rough.

And yea I know it's horrible but I also thought of whether this would affect the Batman movie.

I fully expect the Dark Knight to be THE cinematic experience of this summer...

...but fuck the movie, I want Heath back. He was a life-loving person and there aren't many people like that around already.

Fred Phelps is going to boycott his funeral with his 'God Hates Fags' crap, because of his role in Brokeback Mountain.

Poor, poor kid. I almost cried when I heard the news. Why couldn't someone shit that no-one likes accidentally OD on sleeping pills, like that Germaine Greer chick who sprouted evil shit about Steve Irwin when he passed.

Interesting story though, my best mate's dad (Greg) played pool against him (Ledger) and Mel Gibson at the same time in a pub somewhere, although he didn't know it - he was too drunk. His mates told him about it the next morning... what a bummer, hey?

If the funeral is in AU, Australian immigration will probably reject him for entry, since I believe they regard him as a hate criminal.

Technically 'boycotting' the funeral would mean he wasn't going to attend. So with any luck he really will boycott it instead of making a scene. But my guess is you just used the term incorrectly.

It's so tragic. He had a lot going for him, he was young and a good actor for his age.

As well they should. I just heard a radio interview with his Granddaughter who was talking about it. She said she will be making a sign "ledger in hell" then making some kinda short film about the sign then put it on the web tonight. Nice to know crazy runs in the family.

It might potentially affect sales, though. I can imagine some people would find it awkward to watch a movie with Ledger in it after this; others might, perversely, be provoked into seeing it because of this. Who knows, really.

Doubt it will much effect either way. Batman/comic fans will see it anyway and the general public will have completely forgotten about Ledger by the time it comes out. Anyone who wasn't planning on seeing it is unlikely to be motivated into seeing it now.

Didn't really know who he was apart "that dude out of a knights tale".
