Car Modeling - smoother and faster workflow with which program?

After doing a few searches I know that there is a laughable amount of posts about topics such as 3DS Max vs Maya. However, I wanted to ask people about a specific modeling task - modeling a car. I am in the process of making a driving simulator, so I eventually need to get some car modes together. I've been wondering: Based on your experiences with modeling (price point aside), which program have you found to be the most workflow friendly and efficient in making a model car? I've been looking into 3DS Max, Maya, and even Blender. Note too that although I am a beginner, I would like to further develop my my modeling skills for other applications. Eventually, I would like to be able to legitimately list this skill on my resume.

Thanks, Everyone.

*EDIT* I should add that I want to at least animate the wheels while the car is moving (duh), and maybe some shock animation if I am ambitious.
