Hey guys. I am a UK based university student who has just finished his Computer Science Degree. My next step is to develop some demo''s for game companies. However.. ( this does get interesting, be patient ) For my Final year project, an investigation into Computer Game technology, I began making a footy game. Well the news is good and bad. the bad news is it is far from complete. I got weighed down by other cwks and a stupid 20''000 report on computer game technologies. But what is in place is a framework to be built upon fairly easitly and quickly. So here is the good news, I left uni saturday, and I aim to get this footy game to be a LAN and internet (not sure on the internet idea yet) supported. I have serveral ideas on this as i did multithreaded servers and sockets as a module at uni. Why post Dude!?? Well, I am open to any help from anyone who wants to get involved in this?it is not a money making scheme (well not yet ), instead just a fun hobby to help me get a job at the end, along with my 3D demo''s. What is done so far... It uses Direct X 8. C++ in an object oriented approach(classes and stuff!). No ball Physics although the player has some, (momentum etc) A very simple unfinished AI system, using Some State transistions. Rubbish Collision with ball, and none with other players. Keyboard control, of 1 player for testing. No GK''s Players animated to run and header. No transparency on the player cell though, so has a green box ! Very Nice!! Uses direct Sound for crowd noise. Datamanagement and bitmap management classes to handle custom teams etc. Erm there may be more but i forget?! Anyway here is the post, so if any one wants to help, wheter it be programming, some simple 2D graphics in Paintshop pro etc(I am rubbish! u wait to see my GK attempt!), testing, research or ideas? whatever give me a shout.
