Possibly somebody is "overly paranoid" that using pipe symbols could be
a security risk. UBB boards use them to separate data like names and
passwords. But this board uses ASP, not perl, so I can''t see any reason
why they should extract them out.

Well as long as gamedev doesn't screw up. Also, the |'s are stored as |'s and only showed up as \'s or /'s.
