Plastic Animation Paper should definitely be on that list. Synfig, too.

They are respectively shareware and open source and they should go into the animation section.

Is there another animation section in gamedev?

Sorry, I meant the list in this thread; I forgot that it is sorted by price and not by software type.

macromedia flash is an awesome 2D art and animation package.
Are we not lisiting renderers?
Sharpconstruct, the ZBrush of the poor people! :)
No, really, it is very good, easy, and free (as in beer and as in everything).
I think it is very well headed, it will need a little time for improvement, tough. Just check it: http://sharp3d.sourceforge.net/mediawiki/index.php/Main_Page

It might be too specific but the Facegen Modeller provides very realistic results and is modestly priced at $100. And as a rare treat its easy to use right from the start. http://www.facegen.com/
I wish my lawn was emo, so it would cut itself.
Seems like you're missing ZModeler2.
I think Tiled (http://www.mapeditor.org/) could be added to the Tile & Sprite software list!
Ola,

Dont forget to add Electric Image Animation System (EIAS) - it cost $895 and EIAS have a new owner :)

How about online software that can be accessed from the web browser(like in the cloud)? Are there any good ones for spriting?
