What do you think about Mideast crisis

I think its pretty f'ed up, but it was inevitable anyways. Jordan(or was it Syria?), Egypt and Saudi Arabia have condemned Hezbollah for their actions and are supporting the Lebanese government. I think this time Hezbollah is going to get uprooted and either wiped out or driven out of Lebanon.

Now we're going to get Lebanese refugees, as if we didn't have enough refugees from all the other wars that are going on around us :(

3 soldiers causes war with 3 countries?

Could you possibly be any more disingenuous? An estimated eighty rockets a day are fired into northern Israel by Hezbollah. The last week has seen two Israeli's killed and over one hundred injured.

Combine this with the kidnapping of two soldiers by Hezbollah, and what did you expect? The Israeli government to sit on it's thumbs and allow it's citizens to be killed? Juat what exactly do you view the role of a government to be if it is not protecting its citizens from foreign aggressors?

Could you possibly be more serious? Notice that Israel didn't go rampaging into Lebanon until AFTER the soldiers were kidnapped and NOT when the Israeli families were getting killed. To be frank, even if no families were killed Israel still would have barged into Lebanon started blasting it to hell the second they found out those soldiers were kidnapped. The killings of those families are just as tragic as the killing of any other Arab family, why because they're human. I think we can both agree with that. But Israel uses those killings to justify their "war with terror"* on it neighbors All the while knowing good and well that's not the motivation for their onslaught. Disingenious indeed...

I am speechless

">Israeli settlers stone human rights workers in Hebron

Guess they are all beasts.

You must remember that the settlers in question are radical zealots and not indicative of Israel as whole.
And more importantly, they are children. Young boys. Children can be brutal, and aren't exactly morally developed, and these children grow up in a very bad environment. I think the tital is a little to sensationalist, and is more along the lines of "Young Israeli Boys Throw Rocks at Aid Worker".

As far as the soldier, I don't know how it works over there. Over here, soldiers can't lift a finger against a civilian. For example, in New Orleans the military helped with relief but had to clear out of an area if they were attacked by civilians because they can't retaliate.

I honestly have no idea who started what. All I do know is that these groups have YEARS up YEARS of history where they fight eachother. It's to the point where it probably doesn't matter what one or the other says. That whole region is at fault. If they wanted to solve all this crap, they should've broke out the hooka and started smokin' some time ago. I'd bet good money that if they all just sat down and smoked some weed or SOMETHING, they'd have no more problems.
We'll bring your children up in the classic English manner, by making them learn latin, and beating them half to death in a single sex environment.

No.

So you'd have favoured Israel's invasion of Lebanon after the first rocket attack. I see. Israel has been more than accomodating for the Lebanese government to get these rocket attacks under control. They haven't. The illegal kidnappings of the soldiers escalated the situation.

Israel is acting as any government should.

I hate to disagree for the sake of disagreement but the arabs had an entire elite division of weed smoking troops. The Hashish. They were far from peaceful.

Are you saying you are disagreeing for the sake of disagreement? First off, there's no proof that the Hasan ibn al-Sabbah recruits(the supposed assassins) actually smoked hash, second it happened damn near 1000 years ago. 1009 a.c.e I believe. Anyway they have better processing methods now adays, so I think if the soldiers did smoke weed, they would become pacifists... J/K, last part was a joke.

On topic: I think it's obvious Israel's intentions are to eventually take over all of palistine, they are just doing it so slowly so as not to be accused of genocide, sort of like the US and it's indians. In 200 years, there'll be palistine sponsored casinos and everybody will be happy!

I wouldn't say thousands of years... the conflict is really only about 60 years old... Arabs didn't really mind jews too much, they were actually quite friendly towards them (they had to... according to the Sharia, the Islamic Law).

Sharia is a very negative aspect of Islam. The treatment of non-Muslims by Muslims has throughout the centuries been very bad, even to this day. Non-Muslims, even Jews and Christians, are considered second-rate citizens and are treated according to rules which are clearly designed to eliminate them.

Hashashins were part of an Ismaili (persian shia) movement. They weren't troops..but more of an underground organization. And they were involved in political killings when different people who tried to claim the caliphate came about...

In terms of what is going on over there right now. Its obvious that Israel, Hamas, and Hizbollah have no intention of propagating peace in the region. Out of the three groups in question, Israel received my tax money to do what they are doing, therefore, out of the three, they stand most vulnerable to my criticism. I'm not bankrolling hamas or hizbollah, but the IDF exists because I earn an income. It doesn't make sense to do what the Israeli government is doing. What can they possibly hope to accomplish except further ensure that no one in the region supports their existance. I don't even support their existance...how irresponsible. Having a modern army and using it to collectively punish an entire population who do not have the protection of an army?

Great power does not come from the ability to harm others but rather from the ability to show restraint. As such, seeing Israel as anything but an agressor (biggest kid on the playground) is only possible through the goggles of political/religious bias.

So, basically, Israel is dragging us into a war that we'd rather not take a part in. The next time a 9/11 happens, it may be more useful to see if our foreign policy has anything to do with it rather than you know...lobbing some missiles at some rocks in afghanistan.

Actually, if you look up the code of dhimma in Sharia, you'd see how you're wrong. Unless you want to show some proof how you are right. Dont bring up anything in the postcolonial era since Sharia has not been enacted since before WWI.

To save you the trouble, just look up the history of al-andulus...
