So I was browsing the screens on GameDev and ran into one, then several porn screenshots. Anyway to remove those? Or give mods the ability to filter them?

Thanks for the report -- it normally is filtered, not sure how those got in -- I'm going through the feed to remove the offending images now.

Any moderator should be able to delete images if you bring them to someone's attention.

Hodgman didn't know he had the ability at first. I think he's been helping remove them now.

We potentially need a new tag.

Incidentally, what does the battle link on the new screenshots do? I accidentally clicked it on a screenie I posted once, then immediately felt like I'd done something bad or shady. The feeling never really went away...

Only mods see those tags.. I usually moderate out anything I see popup porn-wise as well as the competition entries. [battle!] adds the screenshot to the competition queue for judging.. not every screenshot goes through, so generally more polished / finished looking entries that aren't concept art or menu shots get entered into the showdown.

When I originally allowed all screenshots to compete it got a bit crazy with rather boring entries.. too much having to sift through them and you just lose interest. (Picture a grayish GUI shot from a configuration tool against a half-finished stick figure game) Instead, there is a level of initial moderation to pick the entries and then the community does the rest when they are compared side by side.

I gotcha. So I guess I didn't do anything too shady.

Well, not here at least. ;)
