Hello im new here and i want to share and idea i have. im from argentina. im not a delevoper, just a gamer. but in this moment i have an idea about a game. the game basically its like "towns". but with better ghraphics and animations, better IA, and i want to add a craft system like minecraft and a build system in first person. for example if i want to build a farm. i will do the size i want, the structure and the fields and put the IA to get the grain automatically for me. build houses and in that houses grown families that works for you. just like banished. And you became a hero in the town you have to build armies to defeat monsters dungeons and find resources like minecraft. and in the future add a online system that you can sell your resources to other user and earn some virtual cash of the game.
basically is a game builder/crafting/management city
hope you understand my english.

The writing forum is for posts about game stories, technical writing, advertising copy, and other fiction and non-fiction writing. I'm moving this to the game design forum, which is where posts about ideas for gameplay and developing game concepts go.

I want to help design a "sandpark" MMO. Optional interactive story with quests and deeply characterized NPCs, plus sandbox elements like player-craftable housing and lots of other crafting. If you are starting a design of this type, please PM me. I also love pet-breeding games.

I havent played Towns so I dont know its mechanics. From he screenshots it looks a bit similar to Dwarf Fortress.

From what you wrote I get you dont have much experience in programming, so I would recommend you to introduce yourself in the beginners subforum and ask for guidance.

I don't play MMOs because I would become addicted

There are many people who show up with a deep game idea, but with little to no game experience. It would be more beneficial for you to begin by making a much simpler game (or multiple games), perhaps ones that have similar activities and/or objects so that, as you complete those games, you become more proficient with the tasks necessary for the other game you want to make.

Also, if you have no game development experience, it is highly unlikely that anyone here will jump on board your project as it stands. More than likely, you will need to develop your own skills independently first. You are therefore unlikely to get many people using private messages to contact you about your game. If you have specific questions about the game, how to develop it, and/or what techniques are necessary / how to go about the process of making a game, plenty of people will probably offer their assistance (myself included). I just want to make sure you have some realistic expectations of what to expect from the people here.

Ah, yes, the beginners forum would be a good place to start.

Is there a particular element that you wanted to discuss or get input on? Do you have a specific question?

There's so much beyond the general description that you've provided that it's difficult to reply to. Right now what you have is just the beginning of an idea.

write a pm if you need more info.

I would hope that if people want to know more about the idea you posted on a public forum (this one), that they would ask their questions and get their answers on the same public forum.

Thanks for answering to all. I will start at the beginners forum.
