Hello all!

As the US approaches its mid-term elections, inspiration struck to start up a Game Jam to help save Democracy and combat the forces of corruption, by making awesome games!

As Extra Credits showed in their three videos about Incentive Systems and politics, as designers we are in a unique position to take a look at the mechanics of how our democracy works, and come up with better ways to help everyone's voice be heard in the most important decisions we, as humanity, are collectively making.

Unfortunately, such an opportunity is not exactly available right now due to the corruption or in-balance of the current system. But as crafters of experiences, we can make games that illuminate this issue to our players and pave the way towards action.

So, the details:

- Game Jam is running from now until Nov 4th. Please submit your games by then.

- Create a game using the theme "Saving Democracy"

- Games must be made available to the judges for free to be nominated for victory

- Games can be made using whatever tools you have legal access to

- Keep it clean. Think of the kids!

Games will be judged in the following categories:

- Best use of theme

- Most Inspirational

- Best Mechanics

- Best Art

- Best Sound

- Most Polished

- Most Fun

Judging

- We're going to handle things like America. A small panel of judges will nominate 2 games in each category. It will then be put to a popular vote to decide which of the two will claim victory.

- Everyone who submits a game will get to be a judge, as will a special group of volunteers.
