I have a 3D arc with start, center, end points and direction. I need to plot a point a certain distance away from the start point and always have it tangent to the arc no matter what orientation the arc is in. I am not sure how to do this. Could someone help me out with this please.

Your description isn't quite clear enough to answer your question. "Arc" can be of several types.

1. Is your 3D arc a portion of a circular arc, or a bezier curve, or ...? Can you provide the equation for the arc, or describe how you generate the arc?

2. A point wouldn't be tangent to an arc. Do you mean you want a point on the arc?

3. What you mean by "direction" with respect to an arc isn't clear. Can you explain?

Please don't PM me with questions. Post them in the forums for everyone's benefit, and I can embarrass myself publicly.
