Game design books?

Could someone recommend any book about game design?

I don't remember having heard of any, so any advice is appreciated.

IMO the printed books I've seen can't compete with the information available online in articles, blogs, developer journals, etc.

I want to help design a "sandpark" MMO. Optional interactive story with quests and deeply characterized NPCs, plus sandbox elements like player-craftable housing and lots of other crafting. If you are starting a design of this type, please PM me. I also love pet-breeding games.
