Project Zoey in Underway

So it's official. Project Zoey, my team's entry for Dream-Build-Play 2009, is now underway. Visual C# 2008 Express and XNA 3.0 are downloaded and installed, the "Platformer" sample project compiles and runs on both my PC and 360, and a fresh solution for Zoey has been created. All that's left is to finish the game, and then... profit!!!

This is our team roster as it stands right now: Programmers: 2
Designers: 0
Artists: 0
Sound Engineers: 0
Producers: 0
Testers: 0
In other words, a skeleton crew. When you also take into account that all current (and possibly future) team members already work 40+ hours a week professionally on other game projects nearing critical deadlines in the coming months, you can see that we have our work cut out for us. But we have what we think is a clever idea (doesn't everyone?) and a doable schedule for getting a really cool game up and running in time for the deadline, 4 months from now. We've already spent the first part of the week fleshing out the scope of the game and it's basic goals, and will hopefully have some documentation and a little coding done by the end of the weekend.

I'll try to keep my journal updated with our progress at least once a week, or as often as I can, but for all intents and purposes, this project has already entered crunch [smile]
