I've just been chatting to a chap who runs a business here in the centre who has just had to let a member of his staff go due to poor timekeeping.
He seems to be basically looking for someone to take a role almost identical to the one I've just been doing for the last two years, although more focused on the office management side than the business development.
I have to say I think I would be perfect. The job I'm now leaving was basically to come into a small business and take responsibility for a big chunk of it to free up the other people to focus on their roles. Sounds as if the guy I've just been speaking to is in exactly the same position.
So CV submitted and hope to hear after Easter. In some ways it would be really nice to move away from sales since there are as many downsides as ups and at least with a non-sales role you know what you are going to be earning every month.
So if all 110,000 members of GameDev could cross their fingers for me, it would be appreciated. I know that will make it a bit hard to type but sometimes you need to make these sacrifices for your fellow hobbyist developers.
Thanks.
Know that you now have at least one of them doing so. [smile]
