Development of P16 Games' game-development library has commenced. Development information will be posted here as well as on the website once it has been finished.

As you can see, there are 9 libraries, each named after one of the 7 sins. They cover math, utilities, graphics, audio, input, networking, and game components. The libraries are separated into 4 different tiers (plus to sub-tiers), each tier above Tier 1 requiring at least one library from the tier(s) below it (and, in the case of sub-tiers, the tier it resides in.)

Once we've reach tier 3 we'll start releasing some demos & previews.

The library is being designed with DirectX, Boost, LUA, and Audiere. We haven't decided on a networking library as of yet. It's being designed specifically for 2D games, but will be adapted for 3D in the future.

Once a budget is set aside, we'll be looking to contract a web designer and developer for the sites as well as an artist to draw the logos that we need.

For those interested, an extensive post-mortem will be compiled and released once all of the libraries are completed as well as a mini post-mortem for each individual library that resides above Tier 2.

-= Edit =-
An aside that I forgot to mention, the library is being documented using Doxygen.

Obviously there is no predicted release date as of yet. Tiers 1 and 2 will be finished quickly, but Tiers 3 and 4 will take quite some time. We're hoping sometime around February of 2009, but we'll have to see how things go.
