Aight, my conclusions:
Very pretty, very polished so far. I like the style a lot.
Problem-
Hard to tell where you're going (Enemy indicators help, though)
Consider-
Adding a trail to the spacecraft, like a glowy path that fades away quickly, so it's easier to sense direction.
Adding parallax scrolling stars in the background.
Adding a ship trail and more parallax layers are both high on the TODO list already. (It's good to know I'm not the only one who would notice.)
Up until recently I had simple lines for trails but I ended up removing them because of their hacky nature. I will do them properly this time.
I think the stars in the background will remain one flat layer because the speed of the craft is too slow to motivate any star displacement. However I thought of adding some grit and debris to the foreground layer as reference points.
I'll also experiment with different looking enemy bullets.
