Pong - Adding Game Options and AI
The final entry in the short video series on Pong is up:
I did enjoy adding the little descriptions for each game option, and programming the various A.I. behaviours. Beating the A.I. is hard, but not impossible (as long as you don't choose the "Ludicrous" ball speed option). Watching different A.I.'s play against each other is mildly interesting (for a minute or two, heh).
And as mentioned in the previous post, you can grab the game over on my GitHub account.
One thing that annoyed me in C++ is the lack of a built-in way to move to the previous or next entry of an enum value. I'm pretty sure the way I handled changing option values was not optimal...
Maybe someday I'll come back and add in some sound effects and background music, and fix some of the issues related to the way the window opens. But for now, I'm moving along to a "snake" clone -- I have lots of ideas to wade through!
