Hello! This is my 6th dev blog. Today, I'll be going over my plans for my turn based battle system. But before we get to that, join the NightRose Discord server! Here's a link: https://discord.gg/qU79HhU

Alright! Let's get started. My game is going to have a classic, old-school turn based battle system, but with a few modifications. The first one is something rather unconventional: anxiety. You and each of your party members will have an anxiety level, and the higher it is, the less damage you can deal. You can lower your anxiety by relaxing, and the effectiveness of relaxing is determined by your confidence.

The next thing I plan to add is a way for the player to time their button presses to deal extra damage. I haven't decided what this mechanism will be yet, so feel free to post any ideas you have in the comments.

Finally, I would like to add some animated backgrounds for the battles. Currently, the only background is a black rectangle, so I'd like to add some cool-looking ones to spice up the battles a bit.

Thanks for reading my dev blog! I hope you enjoyed it. Bye!!

Hey…if you're using anxiety as a game mechanic, maybe your timing could be associated with breathing…so you have to time deep breaths for relaxation which then would equal greater damage.
