It's just one of those days...

Ok, so I won't go into the full Limp Bizkit song, but it's one of those days that you can't seem to be satisfied by anything in your code (i'm sure you all know what I mean). The location of parts gets on your nerves, so you have to move it around, etc. That's the way with me at least.

I've never really put forth the effort to finish a whole game, i've done bits and pieces of numerous games, but never finished [sad]. This time I hope to change that.

I wrote a utility class Saturday that cleans things up a bit, at least make some things less cumbersome to type out each time it's needed.

The biggest accomplishment on this project so far is writing the wrapper class for FMOD, [lol], i'm all for minimizing the work I need to do, so I'll be keeping this sound module for future projects. Just plug it in and 3 lines of code to initialize, load, and play it, I have the deconstructor doing cleanup, so it's not too bad.

I've been running into some problems checking for a valid move, but i'm planning on rewriting all of that code now anyway so it doesn't really matter now.

This whole project has been full of learning experiences, some things to do, some things not to do. My biggest concern is how good the structure of the whole program is. I certainly wouldn't say i've been known as the cleanest coder, I just hope the way I structure things isn't too far off of what it should be.

In other news, i've been on a music buying kick lately, my latest acquisitions are The Very Best of Cream (lots of good songs on there), and The Allman Brother's Band - Legendary Hits. I like both of them, and my collection is now up to 60, ripped to the computer that equates to over 2 days worth of continuous music [smile] and 2.73 GB of data. My music library consists of rock in several varieties, Southern (Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, etc.), general classic (Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Kiss) and newer stuff including Marilyn Manson, Slipknot, and others.

Well, i'm off to recode the move checking functions. How...fun.
