Day 2 of Development

Internet was down last night, so I couldn't post up a screenshot. I haven't got one with me at the moment, so you'll have to use your imaginations.

I had to do some Ph.D. stuff yesterday, so I only had a few hours to work on the game. I've added control to the sub, and made an automatic camera that I can adapt to focus on the action. I've also thrown in a HUD to show depth and speed.

Today, I'll actually have to work on making this a game. I'll need to add the following
  • Little fishies for the sub to collect
  • Obstacles to avoid
  • Enemy fish to really try to avoid

Then tomorrow, I'll need to do the music, throw in the title screen and an ending screen, and polish up the graphics. If I've got time, then I might add sound effects or extra polish.

I must say though that I'm having a lot of fun working on this game. The "paper cutout" style of graphics is something I wanted to try out, but now I've seen it in action in my game I really like it. Even if I don't finish in time I think I'll complete this game, and then probably ditch Project Nova to work on a series of small games like this.
