I was considering GRUB, but it's actually no longer a boot issue - the new BCD-based Windows bootloader is behaving correctly (at long, long last). The problem is that my install of Vista is borked, I think - it dies when it tries to load the kernel executable, but it says it's trying for a file that I don't have and which isn't even on the DVD. It happened the first time too and all I had to do to get around it was install a second time... but that's what screwed over the bootloader too, so I'm trying to avoid doing that [smile]
