Does anyone know how someone would go about creating and maintaining a Game Development Company? Where does the money come from that pays the employees and pays for office funiture, supplies and even the development office(s)? Yes, I am interested in running my own game development company. I want to be fully prepared and I would like to know what all needs to be done. If anyone could help me out and answer the questions I have written above, the help will be greatly appreciated. HexMan

You could bcome 2nd party, working under a bigger company like Nintendo... no exp here...
It is not as simple as it seems. I suggest you read the following article in gamasutra.com.

How does a 2nd Part company operate? What exactly do they do?
first off you need to begin by taking a couple of classes in such things as management, business, and accounting before you''ll really begin to understand everything that goes into properly running a business.

As far as funds to pay for things... thats called venture capital. You''ll have to come up with that yourself or put together such an absolutely fabulous businees plan that a big company will front it for you.... the first option is more likely.

A magic genie in a bottle would also be helpful. :-)

GameDev for PC games is not for the faint hearted.
